When selling home who pays closing costs?

In a real estate transaction, the closing costs are typically split between the buyer and the seller, but who pays for what varies depending on the specific agreement made between the parties involved.

Typically, the buyer pays most of the closing costs, which may include fees for loan processing, title search and insurance, appraisal, and other miscellaneous expenses. However, the seller may be responsible for paying for certain costs, such as real estate agent commissions, transfer taxes, and any outstanding liens or judgments against the property.

In some cases, the buyer and seller may negotiate to split the closing costs evenly or in a different proportion based on the terms of the purchase agreement. It's important for both parties to review the agreement carefully and work with their respective real estate agents or attorneys to ensure that they understand their financial obligations at closing.
